The Battle of the False Lashes: Latex vs. Latex-Free:

So you want to get those long, luscious lashes that all the Instagram influencers have. Or maybe you're just looking for a little bit of extra oomph for your date night out. There are two main types of lash glue on the market: latex-based and latex-free. So, what's the difference between the two? The biggest difference between latex and latex-free false lash glue is, well, the latex. In regards to lashes, Latex is a type of rubber that's often used in adhesives.

Latex:

Latex glue is the OG of false lash adhesives and the traditional type of glue used for applying false lashes. It's been around for ages and is still a favourite among many makeup artists.

They are made with natural rubber latex, which makes them very sticky and easy to use. However, latex-based glues can also be difficult to remove and can cause allergic reactions in some people.  And finally, because it's white in color, it can be difficult to get a completely seamless finish with latex glue. Also because the glue dries up completely, you will need to add more lash glue if you need to move or reposition the lashes.

Latex-free:

Latex-free false lash glues are a newer type of glue that has become very popular in recent years. These glues are made without latex, making them safe for those with latex allergies.

They also tend to be less irritating to the skin and easier to remove than their latex-based counterparts. If you have a latex allergy or sensitive skin, then a latex-free glue is the obvious choice. This glue will also stay tacky, and flexible when it dries.

If you're not sure whether you're allergic to latex, try doing a patch test on your arm before using any lash glue. If you develop redness, itchiness, or swelling, then you'll know to avoid anything with latex in it.

Save your pretty pennies on our Lash care Bundle. Once your lashes are clean, apply mascara and an eyelash curler. Now it's time to get those falsies on!

Step 2:

Trim your Luviri False Strip Lashes to the right size and apply Strong Hold Lash Glue to the lash band, making sure to avoid getting any on the actual lashes themselves, and the base of your top lash line. Wait for the glue to dry clear and go tacky (if it dries completely, it won't adhere as well) then apply starting in the middle first, then the outers.

Step 3:

Use our Lash Applicator to gently press lashes together for a seamless finish. And that's it!
